Academic Conferences

On November 11, the 10th lecture of the Tsinghua Forum and CNEST Frontier Lecture Series will be held in the multifunction hall of the Institute for Carbon Neutrality at Tsinghua University. The event will invite Lord Vallance, UK Minister of State for Science, Innovation and Research, to deliver a keynote speech on China-UK science cooperation amid global challenges and engage in discussions on related topics. The CNEST Frontier Lecture Series is a required frontier course on carbon-neutral technology for doctoral students in the first-level discipline of Carbon Neutrality System Science and Technology. All are welcome to register.

Lord Vallance

Lord Vallance KCB FRS FMedSci FRCP HonFREng is the UK Minister of State for Science, Innovation and Research, appointed in September 2025. He previously served as Minister for Science (2024–2025), Government Chief Scientific Adviser (2018–2023), and National Technology Adviser. Before joining government, Vallance was President of R&D at GlaxoSmithKline.
