Summer Camp Review

Since 2016, the CEADs team has hosted five carbon accounting summer camps, which have received broad attention and strong support from decision-makers, administrators, researchers, and young scholars at home and abroad, and have continued to grow in influence across policy and academic communities. Through expert lectures, course teaching, and related activities, the summer camp provides outstanding young scholars with systematic training in carbon accounting methodology, practical guidance, and case-based learning, while building an academic platform for exchange, collaboration, and mutual progress.
The inaugural China-France Carbon Neutrality Summer School and the 2024 CEADs Summer Camp will be held in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, from July 24 to August 4, 2024. The programme will focus on carbon emission accounting, carbon neutrality technology systems, and transition pathways toward carbon neutrality in emerging economies. Participants will also take part in group activities to study the dual-carbon transition paths of different countries, regions, and cities, and explore the socio-economic impacts of climate change in depth. The programme aims to implement the guiding principles of the dual-carbon strategy, cultivate professionals in carbon reduction with an international perspective, and prepare young talent in the dual-carbon field for the country.
The CEADs Summer Camp organizing committee will give full consideration to candidates from different institutions, academic backgrounds, and other factors when selecting participants. Where the academic match is appropriate, each institution is encouraged to have at least one representative, ensuring the professionalism, diversity, and interdisciplinary nature of the camp cohort.
