The 7th Edition

Programme Information

2023 · Hangzhou

2024 · Harbin

In September 2020, President Xi announced the national dual carbon goals: carbon dioxide emissions will peak before 2030 and carbon neutrality will be achieved before 2060. As global climate governance enters a period of deep change, green and low carbon development has become a key force reshaping the world economy. To deepen strategic cooperation in sustainable development, the leaders of China and France signed the Statement of Intent on the Establishment of a Carbon Neutral Centre in April 2023. In November 2023, the Sino French Carbon Neutral Centre, the first intergovernmental carbon neutral centre in the world, officially began operations, opening a new chapter of cooperation in clean energy research, low carbon exchange, and multidisciplinary talent development.

As the dual carbon strategy becomes part of national governance, training young talent has become essential to carbon neutrality. On the second anniversary of the Sino French Carbon Neutral Centre, the Carbon Neutral Institute of Tsinghua University, together with the CEADs team and leading universities and research institutions around the world, hosted the 7th CEADs International Summer School in 2025. Through a global selection process, the summer school brings together outstanding young participants and offers modular courses on carbon peak and neutrality theory, carbon accounting methods, and climate policy analysis. International experts and scholars will provide guidance and teaching, helping build a new generation of leaders in carbon neutrality with global vision and practical capability.
