Background

To implement the national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality strategy and cultivate young talent for climate governance, the CEADs team has continued to build an academic exchange platform and has successfully held six carbon accounting summer schools. The first edition attracted more than 160 scholars from over 150 universities worldwide, building an international academic collaboration network. As global carbon neutrality efforts accelerate, CEADs will host the 7th Carbon Accounting Summer School in 2025, focusing on innovation in carbon accounting and international scientific cooperation.

This edition brings together academicians and experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and internationally renowned research institutions to form the mentor team. Through keynote lectures, case discussions, and interdisciplinary practice, the summer school will explore the dual-carbon policy system, carbon footprint methodology breakthroughs, and global climate governance trends. A cross-border research team module is designed to help develop interdisciplinary talent with strategic vision and provide intellectual support for the global climate governance community.

English Research Group

The English Research Group focuses on international research collaboration and provides a global academic platform. Participants will work with young researchers from top universities and institutions, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Sciences Po, on topics such as carbon emissions in emerging economies. The program strengthens cross-regional data analysis and policy simulation skills through comparative case studies and scenario modeling.

Junior Scholars Group

The Junior Scholars Group is designed for teenagers aged 14 to 16 and aims to cultivate future talent in the dual-carbon field. Participants learn to use specialized software to complete research tasks, strengthen data analysis skills, and develop interdisciplinary thinking. The program also includes engaging activities such as city exploration and team challenges, with final results presented through visual reports and presentations.
